Knowledge Hubs
"Pathologists are faced with substantial expansion in the amount of knowledge and its availability. This Knowledge Intensive state is a consequence of the energy and vitality of Pathologists world wide in generating new knowledge in response to their personal initiative and questioning minds. While the amount of knowledge available appears daunting, we as Pathologists are graced with the prospect of translating this knowledge into accurate diagnoses and better care for patients as part of our daily activities.
The pressure to make practical use of the existing bank of Pathology Knowledge is made easier for all of us through THE KNOWLEDGE HUB FOR PATHOLOGY. Today, most Universities and Research Agencies emphasize the need for translational research to implement previously discovered innovations diagnosis and care. The International Academy of Pathology and its Divisions worldwide endorse this enthusiastically. The Academy provides real time access through electronic search capability to this storehouse of knowledge through electronically accessed journals such as Histopathology, Modern Pathology and Laboratory Investigation. Through extensive meetings and presentations on various continents and countries worldwide the Academy presents knowledge about Pathology, for example, from the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology on the Worldwide Web with free access to Pathology practitioners and scientists globally. The Knowledge Hub for Pathology, with a vast amount of freely available knowledge to all pathologists and with ready access to more targeted knowledge by its thousands of members world-wide, fulfills a central role in the evolution of the understanding of disease - Pathology. The IAP 'Knowledge Hub' provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of advances in the understanding of pathologic processes and for the presentation and critical evaluation of the application of scientific, technological and methodological advances in the study and practice of Pathology."
